WINTER/SPRING ACTIVITIES GUIDE

NEW REFUND POLICY ADOPTED BY CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 20, 2009

Refunds, minus a $10 processing fee for each refunded class or program, will be given if the refund request is made at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the class or program.  Refunds may be requested by fax, walk-in, e-mail, or by mail and must be made in writing.  Non-attendance in a program is not grounds for a refund.  If a class or program is cancelled a full refund will be granted.  For City- sponsored youth sports leagues, the start of the program shall be defined as the date teams are formed.  Some programs or activities may be designated and advertised as "non- refundable" and refunds will not be given for those programs and activities.

The Parks and Recreation Department strives to enhance the quality of life in American Canyon through programs, facilities and services.

The Department oversees the operation of the Phillip West Aquatics Center and aquatic programs such as swim lessons, open swim, fitness swim, and swim team. The Department is responsible for the City's operation of the Community Center and for all park and recreation facility scheduling and rental.

The Department provides staff support for Parks and Community Services Commission and the Parks and Recreation Director has a variety of duties related to the planning and development of new parks and recreation facilities as well as the improvement of existing parks. 

The Department is also responsible for park maintenance and the maintenance of City buildings.

The Parks and Recreaction Director represents the City on the Napa County Transportation Planning Agency's Technical Advisory Committee.
