About the American Canyon 9/11 Memorial
In 2009, the City of Napa and American Canyon Fire Protection District obtained approval from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to receive pieces of remnant steel from the World Trade Center. A 9/11 memorial in American Canyon will be located at the Public Safety Facility using the remnants. The memorial statue is being designed and constructed by local Napa artist Gordon Huether. Construction from the recovered remnants of the World Trade Center and laminated glass honors the victims of terrorism and all who gave their lives to save others. The monument attests to the triumph of human dignity and affirms our unwavering commitment to our community and our nation.
