The Parks and Recreation Department plans and supervises all City-sponsored recreation classes, programs, and special events, and strives to enhance the quality of life in American Canyon. We oversee the operation of the Phillip West Aquatics Center, including all of the City's aquatic programs. In addition, we are responsible for the operation of the Community Center, Senior Multi-Use Center, Recreation Center, and all park and recreation facility scheduling and rentals. We are also responsible for park maintenance and the maintenance of City buildings.

Our staff provides support to the Parks and Community Services Commission, as well as to the Open Space Advisory Committee. The Parks and Recreation Director has a variety of duties related to the planning and development of new parks and recreation facilities as well as the improvement of existing parks.
