Clarke Ranch is a beautiful 24 acre parcel of currently undeveloped open space adjacent to the Wetlands Viewing Area and Napa River Bay Trail. The City acquired the land in 1999 and it has since been left largely untouched. In 2009, the City Council adopted a General Plan Amendment to designate Clarke Ranch as Open Space and approved zoning regulations for Clarke Ranch to be maintained as Open Space, Recreation, and/or Wildlife Conservation. Currently, Clarke Ranch is home to both our local 4-H and Spirithorse. Clarke Ranch Background Documents
WHAT ARE THE PLANS FOR CLARKE RANCH?
In 2011 the City began a Civic Engagement Visioning process in order to discuss the future of Clarke Ranch. In late 2016, the City hired RRM Design Group to begin the Master Planning process for the site. The final Master Plan will include a detailed graphic representation of proposed site modifications, as well as text describing all recommendations, associated cost estimates, and implementation strategies. The Master Plan will be directly aligned with American Canyon’s General Plan by making Clarke Ranch a prime destination for future outdoor activity in the City.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
The Master Planning process will require input from stakeholders and the general public. The process will be guided by the Clarke Ranch Steering Committee consisting of a representative from the City Council, Planning Commission, and two representatives from the Parks & Community Services Commission and Open Space Advisory Committee.
