NEXT GENERAL ELECTION WILL BE NOVEMBER 6, 2018

GENERAL INFORMATION  

The City of American Canyon conducts municipal elections on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even numbered years. Council members serve four (4) year staggered terms, with two members being up for office every two (2 years). The two (2) candidates that receive the two (2) highest number of votes are elected.

The Mayor is directly elected and serves a term of four (4) years. The candidate that receives the highest number of votes for mayor is elected.

There is no limit on the number of terms the Mayor or a Council Member may serve.

The next general municipal election will be held on November 6, 2018. The following individuals terms expire in November 2018 and the ballot will include candidates to fill these two four-year terms:

Mark Joseph – Council Member
David Oro – Council Member

There will be one City-sponsored measure on the Ballot designated as City of American Canyon Measure H. 

Those interested in running for office may pick-up and return Nomination Papers in the City Clerk's Office during the Nomination Period which begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018

Register to Vote
Forms to register to vote may picked up in the City Clerk's Office or you can register online.  Note forms must be returned to the Napa County Registrar before the deadline for the next election, not dropped off at the City.  Contact the registrar for more information.

Voter's Choice Act 
The Voter's Choice Act became law in 2016 to make voting more convenient and accessible. As a pilot county, Napa County will be 100% Vote By Mail for the November 6, 2018 Election.
