Message from the Chief of Police
I would like to welcome you to the American Canyon Police Department's home page. We hope that you will find this site to be a valuable resource in your search for information about the department and the City of American Canyon. I feel it is important for you to know some history regarding the Police Department and the services that we provide to this growing community.
Prior to the City of American Canyon incorporating in 1992, the Napa County Sheriff's Department was responsible for providing police services to the southern portion of Napa County. The California Highway Patrol was responsible for traffic related enforcement. In 1992 the American Canyon community incorporated and the new City contracted for police services with the Napa County Sheriff's Department. We are now located at 911 Donaldson Way East in the new Public Safety Building that incorporates both the Police and Fire Departments.
There are 23 full time Sworn Officers, 2 Police Technicians and an Administrative Clerk that proudly serve the citizens of American Canyon. The Department participates in the DARE program, Neighborhood Watch, Police/Citizen Volunteers, and also has 2 Officers assigned to motorcycles for traffic education and enforcement.
The men and women of the American Canyon Police Department are committed to providing the residents of this great community dedicated and professional police services. We are committed to keeping the community safe by proactively pursuing law violators through prevention, intervention and enforcement.
