The current General Plan calls for a roadway to connect Commerce Boulevard to Eucalyptus Drive. Commerce Boulevard traffic runs north to south. Commerce intersects with Green Island Road to the north and ends at the northern edge of the Eucalyptus Grove. The Grove is situated between the end of Commerce Boulevard and Eucalyptus Drive. The General Plan vision is to extend Commerce Boulevard south through the Grove to Eucalyptus Drive; connecting the two roadways between Greenwing Street and Donaldson Way.

Where We Are Today

At this time, there is no funding or timing to connect Commerce Boulevard to Eucalyptus Drive.

Since the Commerce Boulevard roadway extension was envisioned in 2013, our City has experienced a couple of major developments in this area. For instance, the 2014 South Napa Quake unearthed a fault that runs through the current site for Napa Junction Elementary School. The Napa Valley Unified School District is currently in the process of relocating Napa Junction Elementary School to the corner of Wetlands Edge and Eucalyptus Drive.

In addition, the Clarke Ranch Master Plan was approved in 2017. Clarke Ranch includes 24 acres of beautiful open space adjacent to Eucalyptus Drive and the Eucalyptus Grove that will be developed into a community park and gathering place.

Given the new developments in this area, the time is right to take a fresh look at the future Commerce Boulevard extension concept, now known as the West-Side Connector.

In the Fall of 2019, we will begin working on our new General Plan. The West-Side Connector will be a part of our City’s Circulation Element.
