Community Tree Lighting

Friday, November 30, 2018  |  6:30pm  |  Shenandoah Park (100 Sonoma Creek Way)

This year's theme is March of the Toys! Our annual holiday tree lighting will include a lighted parade, character photo opportunities, photos with Santa, carriage rides, food vendors, a movie in the park, and a holiday marketplace. This event is FREE.

Lighted Parade - We welcome you to participate in this year's Lighted Parade! Each parade entry is $5 and needs to accompany a completed Lighted Parade Entry Form. Registration may be completed at the Parks and Recreation Office.

Food Vendors - Are you interested in selling food at our event? Please fill out the Food Booth Application Form and return it to our Parks and Recreation Office.

Holiday Marketplace - Are you interested in being a vendor in the Holiday Marketplace? Please fill out the Holiday Marketplace Application and return it to the Chamber of Commerce Office.


Snow Day 

Saturday, December 1, 2018  |  12pm - 5pm  | Shenandoah Park (100 Sonoma Creek Way)

Snow Day is a can't miss event!! This year come participate in our famous snow play area, themed villages, giant slide, inflatable game, jump castles, trackless train rides, food vendors, and more!

Snow Play Fast Passes help spread out the crowds and provide 10 minutes of guaranteed snow play. Passes are available for purchase at the Parks and Recreation Office or online. Fast Passes are $3 each (no maximum purchase limits). Residents may purchase Fast Passes from November 1 to November 29. Non-residents may purchase passes from November 15 to November 29, 2018. 

Snow Day Sponsors - Calling all sponsors! We are looking for organizations, businesses, and people who are interested in sponsoring our event. Call Alana Behn at the Parks and Recreation Office for more details (707) 647-4572.

Food Vendors - Are you interested in selling food at our event? Please fill out the Food Booth Application Form and return it to our Parks and Recreation Office.

 


Santa Sleigh Visits

Saturday and Sunday, December 15 and 16, 2018  |  6pm - 9pm  |  Walmart parking lot (7011 Main Street)

Presented by the American Canyon Fire Protection District. Here's your chance to visit with Santa! When he's not bringing joy to children, Santa is busy saving lives, so visits will take place based on non-emergency response availability. This event is FREE!

 


I Spy an Elf Competition

Tuesday and Wednesday, December 18 and 19, 2018  |  6:30pm - 9pm  |  Senior Multi-Use Center (2185 Elliott Drive) 

Gather a team of your friends and family to search for I Spy items at decorated homes around town. All you need is a team name, transportation, and a keen eye for a chance to win prizes! This event is FREE. Pre-registration is required, and may be completed at the Parks & Recreation office, at the Senior Center, or by phone (707) 648-7275.

 


Holiday Home Decorating Contest

December 17 - 20, 2018  |  Self-Guided Tour  |  Homes must be located in American Canyon 

Sponsored by Eagle Vines Realty, this year's theme is Toy Canyon.

Starting November 1, 2018 register your American Canyon home or business for the contest at the Parks and Recreation Office, (100 Benton Way), by December 13, 2018 at 5pm. You may also print the entry form by clicking here. Entry is FREE. Judging categories include:
  • Best Use of Elves
  • Best Use of Toys
  • People's Choice

The winner in each of the above categories will receive $75. The People's Choice award will receive $50.

Decorating Self-Guided Tour - Grab your family, and experience our city's holiday spirit! This is a self-guided tour. Pick up maps and ballots, (to vote for your favorites) at the following locations on December 17th:
  • Senior Multi-Use Center (2185 Elliott Drive)
  • American Canyon City Hall (4381 Broadway)
  • Parks and Recreation Office (100 Benton Way)
Drop off completed ballots at the Parks and Recreation Office by 10am on Friday, December 21st. 

 


Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I go to watch the Lighted Parade? 

Our Lighted Parade will take place on Shenandoah Drive as a part of the Community Tree Lighting event. The parade will head north towards Donaldson Way East, between Sirah Drive and Trevia Lane. 

How do I sign up to participate in the Lighted Parade? 

You may sign up to participate in our parade by visiting our Parks and Recreation Office located at 100 Benton Way. You may also download our Lighted Parade Registration Form and fill it out at home. Registration is $5 per entry. 

What is the Magic Express Pass? 

We will hand out FREE Magic Express Passes in our character tent during the Community Tree Lighting event. The Magic Express Pass allows guests to bypass the lines on Snow Day at the Jumper and Slide Inflatable, Trackless Train, Giant Slide, and Inflatable Game. We will be selling a separate Fast Pass for the snow play area (see below). 

What is the Holiday Marketplace? 

In partnership with the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce, the Holiday Marketplace provides the opportunity for our community to shop with local vendors and organizations. You will have the chance to purchase stocking stuffers, unique gifts, and more. If you are interested in having a booth for your business, click here for the registration packet or contact the Chamber of Commerce directly by calling (707) 552-3650.

Registration for the Holiday Home Decor Contest is FREE and easy! Starting November 1st, visit us at the Parks and Recreation Office. You may also print the Holiday Home Decor Contest Form at home and drop it by our office. 

Why should I participate in the Holiday Home Decor Contest

Decorate your house to show your holiday spirit! Participate in the contest to receive recognition for your hard work while also receiving a chance to win fun prizes. Every participant in the decorating contest will receive a gift sponsored by Eagle Vines Realty.
