CARE FOR YOUR DOGS

Unless you’re at the dog park, all dogs must be kept on a leash when out and about. A dog left out to bark all day and night isn’t pleasant for anyone. Be courteous and take care of your dog. Contact Animal Services at (707) 253-4451 for loose or barking dogs.

ENJOY THE OUTDOORS

Get outside! Go for a walk. Ride your bike. We are lucky to have such beautiful trail systems in our city and in neighboring areas. It’s not only good for your health, getting outside will also help you become familiar with your neighborhood and your neighbors.

STREETS, LIGHTS & CITY PROBLEMS

Seeing street light outages, water leaks, graffiti, downed signs, potholes, illegal dumping, or other issues? Report these on our site by clicking Report a Problem, call (707) 647-4550, or download and use our smartphone app American Canyon Connect.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

For you and your neighbor’s sake, be aware of what is happening around you. If you hear or see something not quite right, call 911. If you need the police and it is not an emergency, call the non emergency dispatch number at (707) 253-4451.

ON THE WATCH FOR GRAFFITI

Quick removal is the key to discouraging further graffiti. Removal is the responsibility of the property owner, but many church and local service organizations will help you remove it if you ask. Report graffiti by calling (707) 647-4550.

RVs, CAMPERS, BOATS & TRAILERS

These may be stored on private property on a paved surface only. Do not park on the street for long periods of time. More than 72 hours is a violation of the State Vehicle Code. For questions or complaints regarding property issues, call Code Enforcement at (707) 647-4599. For roadway issues, contact the Police Department at (707) 253-4451.

BE SAFE & SLOW DOWN

Drive slowly in all our neighborhoods. Be kind, considerate and respectful of the people who live here. Let’s keep each other safe! The speed limit in most neighborhoods is 25 mph. For non-emergency questions or complaints, call Public Works (707) 647-4558.

GARBAGE CAN STORAGE

Garbage cans should be stored alongside the house, not in the front. On pick-up day, return garbage cans to their storage spot promptly. For problems with garbage pick-up, contact Recology at (707) 552-3110.

KEEP THE PEACE & QUIET

Be a good neighbor! Be kind, respectful and consider those who live around you. Work together to keep the peace and to keep noises to a minimum. To make a noise complaint, contact the Police Department at (707) 253-4451.

PARKED VEHICLES

Do not to park on or block access to the sidewalks. All vehicles parked on city streets must have current registration and insurance. To report an inoperable or abandoned vehicle, call ACPD at (707) 253-4451. For abandoned vehicles on private property, call Code Enforcement at (707) 647-4599.

ELIMINATE RODENT PROBLEMS

Do not let trash pile up or keep abandoned furniture and appliances in your yard. These are perfect hiding places for rodents. For information and help to get rid of these pests, visit the visit the Napa County Mosquito Abatement District at www.NapaMosquito.org/rodents.

BE A COMMUNITY BUILDER

Get to know your neighbors, host a block party for National Night Out, get involved in the Community Wide Yard Sale, join www.Nextdoor.com, or join Neighborhood Watch .

STREET SWEEPING

Every other week, the street sweeper cleans our public streets. Be a good neighbor and move your car so the sweeper can do the best job possible! Your street is cleaned the day after your garbage pick-up. View the schedule here.

GARAGE & YARD SALES

You may have up to 6 sales per year, each one lasting up to 3 consecutive days. Keep your neighborhood clean by taking your signs down immediately after the sale. Placing signs on public signs and poles in the right-of-way or on utility poles is illegal. Instead, sign up for our Annual Community Wide Yard Sale.

YARD BEAUTIFICATION

Help keep your neighborhood beautiful! Your lawn, trees and shrubs do not have to be perfect, just maintained. Messy yards are a signal to the bad guys that you are not home. Trees and shrubs must have a 3 foot clearance from sidewalks and fire hydrants.
