NOTICE OF VACANCY FOR THE CITY OF AMERICAN CANYON REPRESENTATIVE ON THE NAPA COUNTY LIBRARY COMMISSION
The City of American Canyon is accepting applications from residents of American Canyon to fill a three-year term beginning February 1, 2020, as the City’s representative on the Napa County Library Commission. The Commission meets on the first Thursday of every other month at 5:00 p.m.
The Napa County Library is governed by state law and functions under the authority of the County Board of Supervisors. An eight-member Library Commission serves as the Library's policy advisory board. The commission consists of eight members, three appointed by the County Board of Supervisors, two appointed by the Napa City Council, one appointed by the American Canyon City Council, one appointed by the Calistoga City Council and one appointed by the Yountville Town Council.
The Commission advises the Library Director, the County Board of Supervisors and the cities on matters pertaining to the Library. The responsibilities of the Commission include: 1) attending meetings and making recommendations related to Library operations and programs; 2) reviewing budgets and participating in long-range planning for the Library; and 3) advocating for legislation and funding to help meet the needs of the community and the Library.

NOTICE OF APPLICATION PERIOD FOR TWO VACANCIES ON THE CITY’S OPEN SPACE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The City of American Canyon is accepting applications from residents to fill two four-year terms on the Open Space Advisory Committee beginning January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2023. The Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 4381 Broadway Street, American Canyon.
The Open Space Advisory Committee oversees open space efforts in and around American Canyon. Some of the Committee’s goals and projects include updating the long-term vision for open spaces and trails; creating a master plan for Clarke Ranch and fundraising for its implementation; improving access to Newell Open Space Preserve; increasing bike and pedestrian access within American Canyon and regionally by developing multimodal trails; creating and developing a stewardship program to facilitate habitat restoration, interpretation, education, and minor improvements and maintenance.
